A Decision on the Stradey Park planning application may not come until after the Assembly's May elections. After January's public inquiry, rugby bosses urged the Assembly government for a speedy decision.
But, with the planning inspector unlikely to make his recommendation until March 9, the Assembly would not be drawn on a date for the decision.Management at Stradey Park has declined to comment on the financial implications of lengthy decision-making.An Assembly spokesman said: "When received, the report will be processed by planning officials."Under the current organisation a planning decision committee of cross-party AMs would be convened."This procedure is set to change from May 3 when decisions on planning appeals and called in applications will be taken by the minister for planning."It is not feasible to put an exact timetable on the decision at this stage."
