It has been just over a month since Llanelli resident and former Gamestation employee David James-Turvey opened his Retrobution stall in the market.
“The first month has been a huge success as over 300 customers signed up to the database for orders and purchases and the official Facebook page has reached over 7000 people!”
“Christmas savers are already coming to the stall for their orders for Christmas for things they just can't get anywhere else in town. Word is spreading that it's the cheapest place for games accessories and toys and also the best cash prices for trade-ins too!”
“Being my own boss means I have more power to be the best without any limits. It takes a lot of work and time to keep things going. Especially always having to work 6 days a week! But it is something that I should have done years ago. I'm definitely not regretting it.”
“Anyone wanting to start their own business needs to be passionate, different than the rest and be the best at what you do. Customers want a good service and one that they can tell their friends about and this takes a lot of planning and effort.”
I then asked him about his plans for the future of the business.
“I am hoping to expand as a family business into towns that are in need of a shop like mine. Hopefully in a few years there will be many Retrobutions bringing games and memorabilia in a unique and fun way.”
“This year we will be having a big Christmas parade and float in the Llanelli carnival which will hopefully show everyone that games are in town to stay. The float will include people from the community and customers dressed as their favourite games characters. It is a first of it's kind to be in Llanelli and hopefully I can present this to other towns in the future”
