Mike Spudly - Llanelli's Angriest Man
Mike Spudly Llanelli's Angriest Man
Your Llanelli's very own Mr Angry, he's not happy with anything and vents his spleen by writing for us.
You might like his views, you might not, but he's just too brassed off with life to care. To be honest you're better off not taking Mike's views too seriously. Learn to smile and love life a bit, because he cant!
He is notable however in being the first published Mr Angry in Llanelli, all others are imitators... The fact that there are others he finds to be (you guessed it) really annoying.

Democracy Watch with Jacqui Thompson
Hi, I'm Jacqui Thompson living up in the north east of our county, near Llanwrda.
For the past three years or so I've been writing a blog. I cast a critical eye over Carmarthenshire County Council and try and look underneath the tight fitting lid of our local government.
As is the nature of a blog, the opinions expressed are my own and I am not affiliated to any political group or party, but I hope I've raised a bit of interest in the goings on at County Hall where decisions are made which affect every aspect of your daily life, and encouraged a few more to take to their keyboards.
Cooking with Paolo
Paolo is the Project Officer with the Llanelli Multicultural Network.
Though not a trained chef, Paolo owned and ran a catering business in West London for several years.
Two of his passions are travel and food. He has lived in India and travelled to many countries in Europe and the Middle East, all the time learning about the cuisine of those countries.
He has a passion for using fresh and interesting ingredients. He teaches cooking to community groups, emphasising how to create tasty, easy to make food on a budget.
Paolo’s long term ambition is to put together a cookery book that combines travel and food, with some of the interesting recipes from his own travels, and some from members of the Multicultural Network from around the World.
Information about the Llanelli Multicultural Network can be found at www.lmcn.com.

Standing up for Llanelli with John Jenkins
I’m John Jenkins and since June 2004 I have been honoured to have been a Councillor representing my home town on Llanelli Town and Carmarthenshire County Councils.
Having been born, bred, educated and worked all my life in this great Town of ours I am immensely proud to represent our community at a local level.
I love our Town.
Llanelli people are the most warm, community-spirited, decent and resourceful people that you are likely to meet.
I feel it an incredible privilege to have been afforded the opportunity to represent them on the Council and to try and work to make our Town better for all of us.
That is why I get so frustrated when our Town does not get the service that it deserves from our Authorities.
I also dislike the minority amongst us who let our Town down and destroy the quality of life for the good, decent majority of Llanelli people.
We have a great community here in Llanelli and I hope I can share some observations of where we are going right, where we are going wrong and how we can put wrong things right.

The Wonderful World of (Spencer) Miles Lloyd
I am Miles Lloyd. I was born into a fictional family of three kings and a duke when I was just five years old. Two years later, at the age of four, I started performing stand-up comedy. Now, in the year 2045, I have started to blog and write articles for things and I’ve finally worked out the difference between my arse and my elbow.
Josh is an aspiring writer who has a passion for reading and writing!
In this column, he will be exploring some of the many social issues that the town faces!
Social Issues are something that I'm passionate about exploring. Every town has their baggage, but in Llanelli... baggage is an understatement.
During my time in 'Your Llanelli' I plan to explore these issues and ask the questions that many others are asking!
Is our generation moving too fast? Does this town hold everything we could ever wish to achieve?
Also, how long is it before these issues run us down into the ground?
Feel free to comment or contact me on

My name is James and I have recently become a columnist for Your Llanelli. Without even knowing it, being a journalist has been a dream of mine for a very long time. I have always wanted to travel to America to go to E3 as an example, but for some reason, I never thought of it as me being a journalist, so from following advice from Careers Wales, here I am; starting my career by doing work experience for Your Llanelli.
My column will include a range of articles; from news to reviews on movies and games. I am also keeping a blog, so if you want to read more of what I am writing or give me suggestions, check out my website www.jamesaclblog.weebly.com and/or follow me on twitter @JamesACL to keep up to date for when I publish new articles or blog entries.
Hope you enjoy reading what I have enjoyed writing
Dr Reginal Snood
Well readers, you are in for a real treat. Llanelli’s very own Chair of History at the University of Llanelli (Begin Campus). Dr Reginald Snood has agreed to write for us at Llanellitown.com and bring us and our readers up to speed on matters of local history.
Dr Snood is a controversial figure, larger than life in many ways, passionate, deliberate, a deep thinker and a true historian, erudite and pontificating. He’d like to point out though that he is nothing like Dr David Starkey and that Dr Starkey is not a ‘respecter of his work’.
Critics of Dr Snood claim that he has an unhealthy obsession with Carmarthen and comes across as a virulent hater of the town. ‘Nothing can be further from the truth’ he claims, ‘It’s not his fault that carmarthen has such a colourful history as to cast the town and it’s inhabitants in a terrible light.
‘As an academic, all I am interested in is an accurate portrayal of the truth as researched by myself. It would be dishonest not to publish that truth even if it upsets Carmarthenshire County Council...’
And there we have it dear readers! Be prepared to be amazed!
On the campaign trail
My name is Vaughan Williams and I'm the Plaid Cymru candidate for the Llanelli Constituency. I am a former cleaner, dockside worker and currently a school teacher. I am proud of my working class roots.
I reject austerity and Trident and believe a stronger future for Wales is possible. It's not where we're from that counts, but where we're going to.
In this feature, I will be writing about what it's like to stand for election to parliament. The highs and lows, all the way to election day!
