Celebrating culture with a grant for events
There are three big events happening later this month in the county celebrating local culture, all of which have received funding from a recently launched RDP Sir Gar grant: Dathlu Diwylliant.
The Dathlu Diwylliant grant is part of RDP Sir Gâr Innovative Hubs project and is being delivered by Menter Bro Dinefwr in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council. The grant aims to widen access to quality cultural events through the medium of Welsh and provide opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy and participate in the arts in rural Carmarthenshire. Community groups can apply for up to £5000 towards the cost of putting on such events with no match funding required.
The events Dathlu Diwylliant has supported this month are:
Other projects eligible for support include; festivals, workshops, history projects, poetry and literature sessions, dance and live music sessions, Eisteddfoddau and gigs.
“It’s an exciting time for the Dathlu Diwylliant project and it’s great to be able to support a wide range of events in rural Carmarthenshire. If you can demonstrate that your event promotes and adds value to the unique richness of Welsh heritage and culture through the medium of Welsh we would like to hear from you.” says Non Gwilym, Dathlu Diwylliant Project Manager.
Innovative Hubs is funded by the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which has been funded by Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
