Environment Agency Wales is monitoring an area of the Millennium Coastal Path after breaks were found on a part of the sewer pipe between Pwll in Llanelli and Burry Port. Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is carrying out repair work on the pipe which should be completed in the next few days. While the work is on-going the local playing field at Pwll has been temporarily closed and a diversion has been put in place on part of the Millennium Coastal Path. The Agency is working with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, the local authority and other agencies to ensure that the local environment is protected. The Agency’s officers are currently monitoring the repair work and are satisfied that there is currently little risk to the environment. The Agency will continue to assess the situation as the repair work progresses.
