Detectives in Llanelli have made a series of arrests in the town for burglary offences during the past month.
A total of twelve arrests have been made.
These have resulted in 11 people being charged with burglary and one for an offence of handling stolen goods.
“Officers have been targeting those offenders who are known to us and the result is a dozen of them being charged,” said Detective Inspector Richard Hopkin. “They are currently being dealt with through the court system.
“The result of these arrests is that we’ve seen a marked decline in the number of burglaries happening in the town. Figures show a decrease of almost two thirds, with only 13 burglaries for February compared to 36 for January.
“Tackling burglary is a priority for us in Llanelli and these arrests send a clear message that offenders will be caught and dealt with.
“Anyone with information that could help us tackle burglars and find those responsible for these offences I would urge them to get in touch with us by calling 101.”
