Wales’ first One Stop shop for people who are unemployed in the Llanelli area.

 

It provides easy access to all the services that help get people into work and anyone can walk in off the street to discuss their needs with a liaison offer that will introduce them to the relevant service within the building. If necessary they maybe referred to other support agencies.

Then call into The Lighthouse where one of our friendly Liaison Officers can help you make the right choice.   Have a go at our Work Options which gives unique career matching based on your interests, skills and occupational level. With a detailed report to take with you that includes the best jobs that suits you and advice on any training needed to get you the job.

The Work Options just takes 45 minutes and is suitable for Adults of any age and abilities and could be your next step to a promising future.

The Lighthouse

The approach of the centre will be informal, non-threatening and welcoming to encourage people who find the formal offices of represented organisations intimidating or hard to access.

There is a community café with a children’s play area where the main information centre contains:

  • all the latest job vacancies supported by Jobcentre Plus
  • training and educational opportunities
  • health support services
  • debt and counselling services etc.   

The initiative is funded by Jobforce Wales with a grant from The Swansea Bay Partnership Deprived Areas Fund (DAF) will see multiple organisations coming together and working in partnership to tackle the areas growing unemployment. 

As part of the services provided, customers will be able to take advantage of the Community Café and the ‘One Stop Shop’ Information Centre covering – job vacancies, training and educational opportunities, health support services, debt and counselling services, employability and job search skills.

Do I need an appointment?

No, just call in between 9 to 5, Monday to Friday and you will be seen by one of our friendly Liaison Officers.

Will it affect my benefit?

No, we are an advice centre here to help you. All information is treated in strictest confidence. All service users will be asked for permission before any details are passed on to other organisations.

The YWCA Building (corner of Annesley Street), Queen Victoria Road, Llanelli, SA15 2TL, 

How do I get there? 

Car:

Park in the Multi Storey Car Park. From main entrance turn right and walk down Murray Street to the main lights. Cross into Queen Victoria Road and we are the last building on your right before Annesley Street. 

Train:

From the Station (Platform 2 entrance), turn right and walk towards Station Road. At Station Road turn left and proceed up to the main lights. Turn left into Queen Victoria Road and we are the last building on your right before Annesley Street, Llanelli. 

Bus:

Bus service on this route is 181. Alternatively, arrive in Island Place and follow directions above for the car.
